Extreme Ambient Temperatures
Whether the Alaskan tundra or the deserts of the Middle East, Marvair air conditioners are built to
operate in these extreme conditions. For operation in ambients up to 130ºF (54ºC), our ComPac I AVPC
units with the Desert Duty package are the ideal solution. Designed not only for high ambient
conditions, but for fine sand and dust with sealed condenser fan motors and control boxes.
Extremely low temperatures necessitate additional controls and components. The Marvair Extreme Duty package on the AVPC ComPac II air conditioners allow operation down to minus 20ºF (-26ºC). |

Frequently, units are subject to corrosive conditions, such as near the ocean. Marvair offers various options to protect the air conditioner and maximize the life of the unit.
The Coastal Environmental Package includes a sealed condenser fan motor, a protective coating on the condenser coil rated to 3,000 hours per ASTM B117 and a protective coating on the compressor and exposed copper tubing and metal in the condenser section.
Cabinet options - Our standard cabinet is galvanized steel with a polyester enamel finish. For maximum protection, we offer cabinets constructed of mill finish aluminum and stainless steel.
Safety
Air conditioners used in oil production facilities must frequently be built to minimize the chance of an explosion or fire. We can provide air conditioners built to comply with the National Electric Code Class I, Division 2 designations. Requirements include: non-sparking motors, sealing all penetrations between the evaporator and condenser section and making the control box air tight.
