External Low Noise Blower (ELNB)

The External Low Noise Blower (ELNB) is a field installed kit that can lower sound levels of selected Marvair air conditioners by up to 6 dbA by reducing the sound level of the condenser air and the compressor. The ELNB kit is built in two sizes for use on Marvair air conditioners from 2-1/2 to 5 tons. The kit consists of a condenser air hood, controls, a squirrel cage type blower and a compressor jacket. The condenser air hood attaches to the front of the air conditioner, over the condenser coil. Inside the acoustically insulated hood are slow speed, large diameter blowers and motors. The blowers and motors replace the original condenser propellor fan. The speed of the blowers is controlled by a head pressure controller which varies the blower speed based upon refrigerant pressure. As the outdoor temperature drops, the head pressure controller reduces the blower speed thereby lowering sound levels.

The compressor jacket dampens the sound of the compressor. Because the jacket is compressor specific, it must be ordered separately.
